Its Wednesday…the day of the slap. So far so good. Keywords are still alive and kicking. Been surfing around some forums just to see if the slap has already started wreaking havoc. Usually as soon as advertisers are hit by the slap you’d see moans and groans & ‘I hate google’ posts in most of the forums.
To get an idea of whats going on, whether the slap has come and gone or even advice on how to get your slapped keywords back up these forums are a great source of information. There are only three forums that I rely on for support and the latest industry news…
1) ewealth forum (loads of experienced ppc affiliate marketers)
2) Clickbank success forum (also very good but lotsa newbies)
3) Wealth Affiliate forum (excellent support but paid membership site)
So if you feel dejected and all alone…head down to these forums and you’ll get all the help and inspiration you need to keep on keeping on! Am off to bed now…fingers crossed that I survive the slap in the morning. Don’t you just love the feeling….

Yup you read it right. The Google slap is coming and expected to hit sometime today 21st February 2007. Last week my keywords were hit with huge $10 min bids and thanks to the new quality score column on Google I was able to determine which keywords were of a low QS. Thankfully that was a technical error on Google’s part and in the next day or two the bid prices went down again. Over the next few I don’t expect to be hit badly. I’ve learnt from the last Google slap in Nov 06 to build relevant landing page with quality content, tighten my ad groups (not more than 50 keywords per group) and include the keywords in the ad title and description. Most of my keywords have a Great QS with maybe say 10% with an Ok QS and none to date with a Poor QS. That being the case I don’t expect to be hit much by the Google slap.
The only problem I’ve been facing today is the disabling of my ads due to copyright infringement. I sort of anticipated this especially with the download movies/music industry a month ago so I began to aggressively promote other types of products as well as expanding my campaigns to Yahoo.
Over the next two days I’m just gonna give Adwords a rest and wait to determine the effect of the slap on my campaigns. Maybe I’ll work on my blog in the meantime
I will be back to report on the slap effect shortly..till then…take a deep breath and don’t worry too much. Theres always a way to crawl back up again…

Hello everyone…its taken me awhile to get my blog back up after it was suspended by Wordpress. Yes you gotta really read those TOS. Anyway…its Chinese New Year and I finally had some time on my hands to get my blog back up and running. Just thought I’d give you a little update on what I’ve been up to since the demise of my last blog. I’m still in the Adwords game - in fact affiliate marketing with adwords will always be my area of interest. The last Google slap in November 06′ really hit me hard and as a result all my keywords were inactive and had $10 bids. I then went full steam ahead to get them back up, made drastic changes to my strategy and have not looked back since. In the coming posts I’ll talk a little bit more about how I bounced back from the dreaded Google slap.
The other area that I was dabbling with was ebay. Believe it or not I made PowerSeller in December 06′ and one of my resolutions this year will be to grow my ebay business. More about that as well in the coming posts…
Am glad to be back blogging again and this time round my blog is here to stay…will speak again soon.
