My Shocking Discovery About Adwords Affiliate Marketers!

adwords shocking discoveryAs many of you know I’ve been tracking Adwords competition with Under Cover Profits for about 3 weeks now. I hadn’t looked at the results for awhile and today I discovered something pretty shocking about Adwords affiliate marketers. I’ve been monitoring over 300 keywords for the past 20 odd days and today when I looked up the number of adwords advertisers that were still advertising after 20 days the results were astounding.

Only 1% of affiliates advertising on about 2% of the keywords still had their ad up and running after 20 days. These are not affiliates for just one type of industry but over at least 5 differrent industries that I had been monitoring. This was absolutely shocking to me. This means one thing :-

‘Who Loves Money’ Book (by Kyle & Carson)

Don’t know if you’ve heard the hype about Kyle & Carson’s (founders of Wealthy Affiliate) latest product called ‘Who Loves Money‘. As a member of Wealthy Affiliate myself I was given access to pre-launch information of the new ebook. ‘Who Loves Money‘ is due to launch on May 1st. It is basically a collection of ideas, techniques, strategies, and things that Kyle & Carson personally do to set them apart. The purpose of ‘Who Loves Money‘ is to teach people how to become better marketers and basically how to make money on the internet.

I’ve always been a fan of Kyle & Carson’s work especially since I joined Wealthy Affiliate. Their coaching club really helped me take my PPC game to another level right after I was devastated and lost everything from the 2006 year end Google Slap. They’ve also been great mentors and have provided me with guidance that a struggling internet marketer could only hope for.

Clickbank Woes…Affiliates Moving Away From Clickbank!

Clickbank, CPA Networks No Comments »

Clickbank woesClickbank…oh Clickbank! This has been my worst sales week ever. Impressions, click throughs are the same but sales are on a huge decline. So much for the decommissioning of the old Clickbank legacy system which has been by the way postponed to March 15th. Seems as though Clickbank hasn’t really sorted out its problems. Its seems a lot of previously loyal Clickbank affiliates are leaving Clickbank for good. They’re mostly off to CPA networks. Not a bad move if I say so myself. Although I’m not sure of the exact statistics for the percentage of lost sales I can vouch for the fact that the tracking system is nowhere near 100% accurate.

Awhile ago I suspected something was amiss when my campaigns were underperforming. I then did a test purchase with my own affiliate link and lo and behold…I didn’t get the commission despite my affiliate id showing up on the purchase page! I’m still making money on Clickbank so I won’t leave but I’ll definitely start focusing more on my CPA network campaigns. My first CPA campaign has earned me $3.45. Not bad for a start!

Why Most People Fail In Affiliate Marketing With Adwords

Eversince the demise of my movie/music download campaigns I was left with only 1x successful campaign. This campaign has been doing very very well and churns out more than my previous monthly salary. In fact at least 5x more. Why am I complaining? Well the problem is this…if that one campaign goes bust for any reason (e.g another Google slap, decrease in conversion for whatever reason etc etc and the list goes on) then I’m left with nothing - zip. I’ve for the past month been trying to create another successful campaign just to diversify and reduce risk. The result? Absolutely horrendous.

As many of you may have read I’ve also tried CPA networks. I keep asking myself over and over again why I’m finding it so difficult to replicate the results of my first campaign. Sitting at my PC 12 hours a day didn’t help so I took a break. Took a full day off watching tv, reading my favourite books and enjoying my Star Bucks caramel macchiato.

My First CPA Campaign…

Adwords, Adwords Case Studies, CPA Networks 2 Comments »

I finally received a reply from the MaxBounty affiliate manager and got my problems sorted. I had already done my research and decided on a specific pay per lead offer. This offer pays out $1.40 per lead. A lead in this case is described as an email address as well as the completion of a short survey. There were only 5 other ads for most of the keywords I had targetted so things were looking pretty good….until….
