A couple of days ago I purchased an ebook called The Amazonian King. Its all about how the author made his millions using Google Adwords and Amazons affiliate program. Its a good book and really inspired me to try out the Amazon affiliate program. I did try promoting Amazon products about a year ago when I first started with affiliate marketing and actually made some sales. The mistake that I made (I figured this out from the book) that the Amazon products I was promoting were too cheap. Heck I was promoting DVD box sets at a 4% commission…that would earn me a measely $4 per sale. Its a no wonder I lost money!
The author gives recommendations on the type of Amazon products you should be promoting for maximum profitability and even exposes the exact campaigns and products that brought him his millions. After reading the book I did a quick browse of Amazon’s affiliate program and did some research on the product keywords. According to the author you get really high conversion rates with Amazon products ~3-4%. I’m not surprised especially if you’re advertising on the exact product name.
I’m definitely going to try this sometime in the near future once I’ve reached my Adwords income goal. For now I’ve put it on hold as the quarterly pay period has somewhat put me off (am already struggling with the Clickbank fortnightly pay period). When I do get the ball rolling on this one you guys will be the first to know…
