Phew - I’ve been busy busy busy! The dreaded Google slap is back - and did a lot of damage indeed. 3 of my campaigns were hit BIG time with $10 bids. Those domains are now useless despite the fact that all my landing pages were mini sites on their own. Oh well - I guess they just weren’t good enough. Am not completed back on track yet but am getting there. In fact I’ve learnt quite a few valuable lessons from this. Will get to that shortly. In the meantime this is what I did to get my campaigns back up and running (mind you - its easy to just transfer over your content from your slapped domain to a new one and get Great QS for awhile - problem is you haven’t addressed the reason you got slapped in the first place). I’ve attempted to slap proof my campaigns and heres what I did :-
How Testing Landing Pages Increased My Profits By 100%
Adwords, Adwords Case Studies, Clickbank 8 Comments »I’ve always read that testing & tracking are essential tasks that when done religiously make all the difference between a profitable campaign and a dud. I guess I’ve always known that but it never quite occured to me that I was doing it all wrong. Well I wouldn’t say all wrong - I was just not doing enough of it. For instance I would simply track keyword conversions and scrap keywords that weren’t converting and I thought it was enough.
For some strange reason (I can’t remember why) but I decided to test different aspects of my landing page. I tested different layouts, graphics, headlines and anything else I could think of. That was 3 weeks ago. Since then I’ve increase my conversion rate drastically. In some cases I tripled my conversion rate just by tweaking my landing page. I’ve now put a hold on creating new campaigns and am working on testing and tweaking my existing ones. So if you really wanna squeeze out every last drop of profit from your campaigns - test, test, test!

I’m in Singapore over the next few days and just thought I’d give you a little heads up on what I’ve been up to. In a nutshell I’ve been working on building content around my landing pages. Its important to get a Great google quality score especially in competitive markets. To date most of my campaigns are in competitive markets. All my campaigns have landing pages and I do not direct link at all. I used to direct link but I found landing pages to be much more profitable. This is of course assuming your landing pages are doing a good job at pre-selling.
I finally received a reply from the MaxBounty affiliate manager and got my problems sorted. I had already done my research and decided on a specific pay per lead offer. This offer pays out $1.40 per lead. A lead in this case is described as an email address as well as the completion of a short survey. There were only 5 other ads for most of the keywords I had targetted so things were looking pretty good….until….

Today April 8th Clickbank retires their legacy system and users will no longer be able to login via the old legacy form. This according to Clickbank should improve on the tracking issues resulting in sales gaps that has been a huge complaint for a long time now. This in turn works out to more profits for us affiliates…yay…let’s wait and see how it turns out!
