Results Of My List Building Attempt!

List Building No Comments »

Its been one and a half days since I put up my opt-in form on my landing page. I’ve just added the opt-in web form to my sales copy so it isn’t a squeeze page as such. I’ve also placed the form right at the bottom of the page. My primary aim was to get click throughs on my affiliate links and just capture the few visitors who may be interested in my newsletter. Had I just put up a short opt-in form with no other deviating links I’m sure my sign up would have been way higher. I’ve got 3 verified subscribers (verified = double opt in) in 2 days with a sign up rate of 1%. 1% is horribly low but then again my main aim is not to collect subscribers but to also get click throughs to test my new Clickbank product and that was evident in the placement and the design of my sales copy.

I use the Aweber auto responder and it also shows me the number of click throughs on my affiliate links within my newsletter. Really neat stuff! Guess I’ll just let it run for a few days and post up my sales results (if any….)

My First Attempt At List Building…

Adwords, List Building No Comments »

list building with adwordsI experimented with a new campaign 2 days ago and I’m in the red. I made 3 sales but paid way to much for advertising. I figured some of my keywords were too generic and have since deleted them. I’ve realized that the key to profitable campaigns is lots and lots of targeted keywords. I just get too tempted sometimes to use highly searched on keywords that aren’t targetted.

I then decided to experiment with list building to see if I could save this campaign. I had signed up with Aweber auto responder about year ago but never really used it. I’d always been a bit lazy to dabble with list building but the process was quick enough. Inserting the opt-in box took only a few minutes. Most of my time was spent drafting out my 5 follow up emails. I just completed that about an hour ago. Now I’ll just have to sit back and see what happens. Good thing that Aweber provides click through tracking so you know how many percent of people clicked through on your link. I created a link in the emails with a specific Clickbank TID so I can track the number of sales that come in through my newsletter. I’ll write back again in a week with the results of my campaign…have a good weekend :)
