How Testing Landing Pages Increased My Profits By 100%
Adwords, Adwords Case Studies, Clickbank Add commentsI’ve always read that testing & tracking are essential tasks that when done religiously make all the difference between a profitable campaign and a dud. I guess I’ve always known that but it never quite occured to me that I was doing it all wrong. Well I wouldn’t say all wrong - I was just not doing enough of it. For instance I would simply track keyword conversions and scrap keywords that weren’t converting and I thought it was enough.
For some strange reason (I can’t remember why) but I decided to test different aspects of my landing page. I tested different layouts, graphics, headlines and anything else I could think of. That was 3 weeks ago. Since then I’ve increase my conversion rate drastically. In some cases I tripled my conversion rate just by tweaking my landing page. I’ve now put a hold on creating new campaigns and am working on testing and tweaking my existing ones. So if you really wanna squeeze out every last drop of profit from your campaigns - test, test, test!

James Brausch talks a lot about testing and has software that will allow you to test a lot of the aspects of your landing page and automatically determine the one that should be the control.

Yes, I agree test and track. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do you still have to test and track. No one want to pay out money for something that will not bring them in business. Even people as successful as James Brausch will test and track their efforts. If someone uses unsuccessful methods to drive traffic to them they won’t get anywhere.

Hi Cheryl,
1. How do you get content for your own landing pages? Do you write them on your own or do you hire ghost writers?
Do you put like 10 to 15 pages of content on any given affiliate site?
2. About split testing…do you do it manually with trial and error, or with some automation using a certain script/program?

I’m curious if you are using James Brausch’s software to test your landing pages. I heard it was good, so I would like to hear your opinion.

Awesome tips. One of my mentors (James Brausch) always talks about testing. He uses some kind of multivariate testing software to improve his salespages and says that he consistently doubles or tiples his conversion rates by testing.

Hi,
I know I should be testing but I have never been a detail person. I’m also not very paitient. It seems that testing on my own one thing at a time would take forever.
How long does it take you to run a test? How many visits to you think makes a test viable?
I have been considering getting a program created by James Brausch that supposedly does multivarite testing. I believe that means it can test more than two things at a time. It also automates the whole procedure and always uses the winner until another variation beats it.
Have you ever used this or any other testing software? This is an area where I know I am weak in, it just seems that if I can find software to do it, it’s kind of like outsourcing my testing.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Scott

Congrats on the increase in profits! It is imperative to test all aspects of your landing pages. It is amazing how one small change can have a dramatic effect on conversion rates. There are some excellent tools available that can assist greatly in this process e.g. MuVar, allowing you to maximise your conversion rates. Effective testing can be the difference between making a sale or losing it.

What tool(s) are you using for this? I’ve just started with MuVar, and I’m looking for some other tools I can use for places other than my landing pages (autoresponders and adwords particularly)
