My new Dell laptop has arrived

I ordered a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop a week ago and it arrived yesterday. I usually travel back and forth between my apartment and my mum and dads place every day. I’ve got a desktop here in my apartment but preferred a laptop for home mobility (e.g working in front of the tv, on a sofa..you get the idea). Rather than having the lug my laptop back and forth I decided to get another laptop. I know it sounds ridiculous since laptops are supposed to be portable anyway but I like big screens and my shoulder was beginning to give way. Anyway here are the specs :-

Screen size : 15.4″ widescreen true life (glossy)
Processor : AMD 1.6GHz Turion X2
Memory : 1GB
Operating System : Windows XP

Before I purchased it I was undecided as to whether the specs would be sufficient. I was considering the Intel Core 2 Duo and 2GHz of RAM. I only use basic computing features and nothing graphic intensive so I figured I didn’t need that much computing power and the 1501 fit my budget.

Its been great. Super fast for my needs and I finally got a DVD burner. Whooopee!

With two laptops data syncing is a necessity. I needed a way to sync data so that all the changes I’ve made on one laptop can be synced with the other. I came across a really cool syncing software thats totally free. Its called Allway Sync. I use a portable 80GB hard disk and the syncing software automatically syncs data on both my laptops so all I need to do is carry my portable hard disk with me. If only they had 80GB usb drives.
