The End Of Download Music, Movie & TV Shows Sites!
Adwords, Building Internet Marketing Business, Yahoo Search Marketing, Clickbank Add commentsI mentioned about a week ago in one of my posts that Google was clamping down on the promotion of download music, movie and TV shows sites. A lot of advertisers had their Google ads disabled due to copyright infringement. I had about 2-3 ads disabled but the remaining ads I still left up and running. I figured I’d just leave them till they got reviewed and disabled.
Whilst I was enjoying a nice meal & watching American Idol I received a heart stopping email from Google. These emails seem to be able to stick out like a sore thumb in a mass of other emails! I wonder why? I hate moments like that when my heart is racing 1000 beats a minute as I click to open the email. It was basically a warning email to remove all my remaining ads that were advertising download music, movie & TV show sites (P2P download sites) or have my Adwords account permanently suspended!What a way to enjoy my evening. Anyway…my next step didn’t require much thought. I had to delete my two campaigns (one promoting movie downloads and the other TV downloads). These campaigns have been running for about 6 months now and I’ve been making a nice steady income from them. I’ve just lost a $2k oil well!
I guess this is all part and parcel of running your own business. I’ve always felt that my income was too dependent on Google and that I needed to diversify to minimize risk. Hence I’ve started aggresively advertising on Yahoo & MSN as well as venturing into developing my own product and hiring an employee to focus on my ebay side of the business. I’ve just got to keep on building enough momentum to be able to support any business expansion.

(Thats why I’m still up at 1am) When it was launched once before it costs $5k and apparently this time round it won’t cost as much. I’m keen on seeing what its all about and maybe if the cost is within reach I might just give in to temptation and buy myself a seat….we’ll see….. 50 mins to go….tick tock!
