Tracking Keyword Conversions & Rich Jerks ‘Xray’!

Adwords, Clickbank Add comments

rich jerkWhen it comes to tracking conversions, Google’s free tracking tool allows you to track sales per keyword provided you’re able to get the merchant to insert your tracking code on the thank you page. Even once they do its not 100% accurate. In fact I’ve found that my Google conversion tracking is so off the mark that its pointless to continue using it. It is better than nothing but there is an alternative in the form of the new Clickbank TID or tracking ID.

I’ve been using the Clickbank TID for awhile now and its great. The only problem is that if you wanna track each keyword then you need one TID per keyword. Not only have you got to do it manually, its hugely time consuming especially when you use landing pages. You’d then have to create a separate landing page for each keyword. What a nightmare!!

As resourceful as internet marketers are however, I’ve managed to get a hold of a cool php script that automatically inserts a unique TID for each keword. It also has a reporting feature so you can view all the converting keywords. I must admit I haven’t fully implemented it in all my campaigns (just been too lazy to ammend my landing pages). As far as I’ve tested it though its been great with no hiccups.

If you’ve signed up to as many mailing lists as I have you would have come across promotions of the Rich Jerk’s new product called Xray. At the time of writing its yet to be launched but it seems to be a keyword conversion tracking software very much similar to my current PHP script. I can’t remember the name of my PHP script (paid about $30 for it) but will look it up and post up a link shortly. I’ll also do a review of Rich Jerk’s Xray product once its out (~Tuesday 20th March).
